Paris Business Products Receives Certification From SFI and FSC
Westampton, NJ Paris Business Products has been certified by the SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) as an organization taking responsible and sustainable action for protecting the forestlands through the Chain of Custody (CoC) manufacturing process.
As part of a company-wide campaign, Paris has added the FSC and SFI certifications to its list of initiatives in broadening its status as an earth-friendly company. These sustainability efforts have actually been going on for many years and include recycling, reusing, and reducing resources and waste throughout the organization.
For example, Paris continues to recycle over 99 percent of its paper, cardboard, and pre-production material waste. Most recently, the company began installing more efficient lighting throughout its NJ-based plant and warehouse. This lighting burns longer, is brighter and uses less energy.
“As a converter and distributor in the paper industry, we have been practicing many of the underlying principles of sustainability for decades. With advances in technology and the sheer amount of effort by individuals and organizations worldwide we are learning there are tremendous opportunities for improvement and that sustainability works for the environment, for our customers, and for our bottom line,” says Gerry Toscani, CEO of the 44-year old company.
